DoloresHidalgo
Dolores Hidalgo, cradle of National Independence, is known as the hometown of José Alfredo Jiménez and a key place in the history of Mexico. Here, the days go by between the colorful ice cream stands in the main garden and the handicraft market, where you can find objects made of majolica pottery.
This town was also the home of the priest Miguel Hidalgo, who, on September 16, 1810, took up arms against the colonial government of New Spain. The Parish of Our Lady of Dolores, where he proclaimed his famous cry, and the Casa del Diezmo, now converted into the Museo Casa de Hidalgo, house important memorabilia from that era.

The Reason:
Its historical importance
On September 16, 1810, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla rose up against the oppressive government of New Spain. The place where he proclaimed his famous cry was the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Dolores, which was built between 1712 and 1778. The priest's former residence, known as the Casa del Diezmo, has been transformed into the Museo Casa de Hidalgo, where his personal belongings can be seen.
