San Francisco del Rincón

San Francisco del Rincón, in the state of Guanajuato, was founded on January 21, 1607 under the name of San Francisco del Tule by indigenous families of Otomí and Purépecha origin. With the passing of time, it consolidated as an important point of artisan and industrial production.

The city is widely known for its tradition in hat and footwear manufacturing, which has earned it titles such as “Hat Capital of the World” and “National Capital of Sports Footwear”.

Walking through its streets, you can admire the colonial architecture reflected in emblematic buildings such as the Parish of San Francisco de Asis, whose construction spanned much of the eighteenth century, as well as the neoclassical Municipal Palace.

The local culture is intensely experienced in its traditions and festivities, including the celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, as well as the anniversary of the founding and events such as the National Hat Fair, which highlights the identity and craftsmanship of the region.
