• Better service, faster response, visitor guidance, friendly treatment, destination knowledge, and emergency protocols were some of the topics covered in the training sessions.
• The training will allow tourist police officers to better guide foreign tourists, respond to incidents more quickly, and provide information on the main attractions and services of each destination.
With the goal of strengthening the attention that visitors receive in the Magic Towns of Guanajuato, tourist police officers were trained on topics such as visitor orientation, friendly service, tourism culture, destination knowledge, emergency protocols, and timely incident response.
As part of the "Government of the People's" strategy to strengthen the competitiveness of tourist destinations, the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI) held six Competency Development courses for the Tourist Police, aimed at members of Public and Traffic Security from the six Magical Towns of Guanajuato.
In total, 106 members of municipal corporations participated in this training process, aimed at strengthening their capacities to provide professional, friendly, and specialized attention to visitors, as well as improving the response to the needs of national and foreign tourists, and contributing to a safer and higher quality experience in the destinations; strengthening compliance with the criteria established by the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico for the permanence of the destinations in the Magical Towns Program.
This training and professionalization axis, as part of the state tourism competitiveness strategy, strengthens the institutional capacities of those who have direct contact with visitors, recognizing that tourism security is one of the most important factors for consolidating competitive, sustainable, and quality destinations.
During the courses, participants developed technical, operational, and visitor service skills, with content focused on tourism culture, hospitality, effective communication, risk management, operating protocols, knowledge of tourism heritage and the identity of each Magical Town, as well as tools for providing guidance and support to national and international tourists.
With this permanent professionalization of the Tourist Police, coordination between municipalities and the State Government is strengthened, a culture of service oriented towards excellence is promoted, and contributions are made to raising the quality of the tourist experience in Guanajuato's destinations.
Likewise, these actions contribute to the fulfillment of various indicators considered within the National Strategy for Magical Towns, particularly in terms of human capital professionalization, tourism security, comprehensive destination management, and continuous improvement of public services linked to the sector's activity, fundamental aspects for maintaining the designation and strengthening the competitiveness of destinations.
The People's Government, through the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity, reaffirms its commitment to promoting continuous training for those who are part of the tourism value chain, consolidating Guanajuato's Pueblos Mágicos as safe, competitive destinations prepared to offer high-quality experiences, while also contributing to community development through tourism.
