A total of 19 traditional cooks from 12 municipalities were part of the Third Preliminary of the 14th Traditional Cuisine Encounter Guanajuato, ¡Sí Sabe! 2026.
The Tourist and Economic Development Center (CENTUDE) in El Encanto de Guanajuato Tierra Blanca, welcomed 19 traditional cooks from 12 municipalities of the state, who were part of the Third Preliminary of the 14th Guanajuato Traditional Cuisine Meeting ¡Sí Sabe! 2026.
In the Government of the People of Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo and in the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), we recognize the Traditional Cuisine Encounter Guanajuato ¡Sí Sabe! as an event that has consolidated itself as one of the most important platforms for the promotion and preservation of Guanajuato's gastronomy, highlighting the identity, richness, diversity, and cultural value of the endemic flavors of the different regions of the State.
During this preliminary stage, 19 traditional cooks participated from the municipalities of Dolores Hidalgo, Doctor Mora, San Diego de la Unión, San Felipe, Victoria, Ocampo, San José Iturbide, San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato, Tierra Blanca, Villagrán, and Xichú; they presented dishes representative of their communities, sharing techniques, ingredients, and knowledge inherited from generation to generation.
The gastronomic proposals were evaluated by a qualifying jury, responsible for selecting the most representative dish from each municipality for participation in the grand finale of the Encounter.
Previously, on May 3rd and 9th, the first two preliminary stages were held in the Encantos de Guanajuato of Cañada de Caracheo, in Cortazar, and Nuevo Chupícuaro, in Acámbaro, with the participation of 44 traditional cooks representing 28 municipalities of the State.
With this third preliminary round, the first stage of the competition concludes, bringing together a total of 63 female cooks representing 40 municipalities from Guanajuato, who have shared the identity, tradition, and culinary richness of their communities through traditional cuisine.
The grand finale of the 14th Guanajuato Traditional Cuisine Encounter ¡Sí Sabe! 2026, will take place on May 30th and 31st in the Historic Center of Irapuato, featuring a cook representative from each municipality, as well as exhibitors of beverages, spirits, and crafts from all over Guanajuato.
With these actions, the Government of the People, through the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity, continues to strengthen Guanajuato's gastronomic heritage as a key element for the state's tourism, economic, and cultural development.
