The Capital of our Country received the official presentation of “El Rey” Festival from November 21 to 23 in Dolores Hidalgo, Cradle of National Independence, an event that pays tribute to the cultural and musical legacy of José Alfredo Jiménez, icon of Mexican music.

The press conference brought together national media, promoters, artists and special guests, who learned about the artistic offerings and activities that will take place in Guanajuato during the festival.

The objective is to project the festival to a wider audience and position it as a national reference for regional music, gastronomy and wine. During the event, the importance of the festival for the promotion of tourism in Guanajuato was highlighted, as it will attract visitors from different states, generate economic revenue and strengthen the cultural identity that distinguishes the state.

One of the most significant moments was the presence of Paloma Jiménez, daughter of José Alfredo Jiménez, who expressed pride in the tribute to her father and highlighted the relevance of his music, which continues to transcend generations. She emphasized that “El Rey” not only honors the composer's career, but also celebrates the roots of Mexican music and the affection of the public that keeps his legacy alive.

In this edition, the goal will be to far surpass the results obtained last year, when the festival received 13,000 attendees and generated an economic revenue of more than 11.7 million pesos in Dolores Hidalgo and nearby municipalities. The expectation for 2025 is to increase both the number of visitors and tourist investment, boosting consumption in hotels, restaurants, transportation, commerce, handicrafts, wineries and tourist services.

The artistic program promises a stage full of talent. Among the confirmed performers are El Fantasma, Ana Cirré, Mariachi Gamma 1000 and Aranza, artists who, in their own style, will pay tribute to the great Guanajuato singer-songwriter. Their performances, added to the cultural atmosphere of the festival, will position Guanajuato as a destination that embraces its traditions and promotes regional Mexican music in the eyes of the country.

During the presentation, wine culture also took center stage. Ramón Vélez, director of the Uva y Vino Association, announced the launch of a special label created in honor of José Alfredo Jiménez: “Cuna del Rey”, a wine that represents the passion, talent and roots of the land of Guanajuato. This edition seeks to enhance the state's winemaking tradition and add to the festival a sensory experience that combines music, gastronomy and local produce.

The “El Rey” festival has established itself as a platform that unites music, tradition and tourism. Beyond the artistic spectacle, the event boosts the regional economy by promoting lodging, gastronomy, transportation, wineries and local consumption. Thus, Guanajuato reaffirms its vocation as a state that celebrates its identity and, at the same time, projects itself as an attractive destination for cultural and entertainment tourism.

With this presentation in Mexico City, “El Rey” Festival of Music, Tradition and Wine expands its borders and prepares the way to receive thousands of attendees who, to the rhythm of the music of José Alfredo Jiménez, will live an experience full of pride, talent and Guanajuato culture.
