The Ministry of Tourism and Identity of the State of Guanajuato, headed by Maria Guadalupe Robles León, is participating in the World Meetings Forum (WMF) Global Mexican Caribbean 2025, a high-level international event.

This meeting is part of the global We Make Future (WMF) network, recognized as one of the most important digital innovation festivals in the world and focused on driving technology, entrepreneurship and sustainability within the meetings industry.

This agenda is part of the tourism promotion and development plan promoted by the Government of the People, under the vision of our Governor, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo and the Secretary of Tourism and Identity Lupita Robles, who are committed to meeting tourism as an economic engine and as a showcase to show the quality, professionalism and innovation of Guanajuato to the world.

The WMF brings together leaders, experts, international organizations and companies in the MICE sector, promoting the exchange of knowledge, investment opportunities, professionalization and linkages between the public and private sectors. Its location in the Mexican Caribbean positions the region as a strategic point for the connection between Latin America and the world.

By 2025, the event projects the participation of 50 hosted buyers, 50 table tops, 2,560 business appointments, as well as the generation of leads (potential contacts) and commercial links that strengthen the tourism supply chain.

The main objectives of the WMF are to bring together event organizers with destinations and specialized suppliers, generate business opportunities and promote the infrastructure, services and capabilities that each entity offers for congresses and conventions. In addition, the program includes conferences, panels, exhibitions, activations and networking spaces that promote global competitiveness with a sustainable and innovative approach.

The León Hospitality and Tourism Board and the Guanajuato Capital Tourism Council are also part of the delegation, strengthening the joint promotion of the state's MICE destinations.

In 2024 Guanajuato registered a record of more than 150 events in the meetings industry in its six destinations; Leon, Guanajuato Capital, San Miguel de Allende, Silao, Celaya and Irapuato, as well as an economic spillover of more than one billion pesos, generating jobs and opportunities for those who find in meetings tourism a way of life.

Guanajuato's participation in this forum represents a strategic opportunity to showcase the infrastructure, operational capacity and competitiveness of Guanajuato's destinations in the global meetings market. The presence of the Ministry of Tourism and Identity strengthens the state's positioning as a territory prepared to attract international congresses, conventions and events, which translates into greater economic revenue, hotel occupancy and development for the tourism value chain.
