Guanajuato opened its participation in the Tourist Tianguis with activities focused on destination promotion, social tourism, tourism innovation, and institutional strengthening.
- The Secretary of Tourism and Identity, María Guadalupe Robles León, accompanied the official inauguration, the inaugural tour, and the opening of the Guanajuato Stand alongside the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora.

Guanajuato began its participation in Tianguis Turístico México 2026 with a work agenda focused on destination promotion, strengthening institutional alliances, tourism-focused innovation, and consolidating an offering with a distinct identity, ready to continue positioning itself in the national and international market.

The event kicked off with a destination presentation led by the Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion, Armando Gasca, in which the vision with which Guanajuato arrives at this edition of the country's most important tourism meeting was presented; a strategy focused on identity, diversity of experiences, and strengthening its key segments.

“Guanajuato arrives at the Tianguis with a clear path: to promote our identity, open commercialization opportunities, and continue positioning our state as a competitive, accessible, and authentic destination,” stated the head of the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), María Guadalupe Robles León.

As part of the institutional agenda, the head of SECTUR participated in the forum: Financing and Investment in the Tourism Sector in Mexico, a relevant space for the analysis of mechanisms that strengthen tourism growth, promote new projects, and improve conditions for attracting investment in destinations.

In parallel, the Secretariat's technical team advanced the identification of potential technological tools to strengthen the Guanajuato State Tourism Observatory (OTEG), as part of the vision of innovation, measurement, and decision-making with tourism intelligence.

Later, Guanajuato had a presence at the Second Ordinary Session of the Mexican Council of Social Tourism, a strategic space to reinforce the inclusive vision of tourism and its capacity to generate well-being, access, and development in communities.

“Today, tourism is also built on inclusion, on the possibility of bringing experiences and benefits to more people and more territories. That is why, for Guanajuato, participating in the social tourism agenda is also about justice, community, and shared development,” expressed Robles León.

As part of the official inauguration of the Tianguis Turístico México 2026, Guanajuato was part of the ceremonial protocol and the official photo, reaffirming its presence at one of the country's main tourism promotion showcases.

The Guanajuato Stand was conceived as a space to showcase the state's cultural richness, its regional diversity, and its capacity to offer structured and marketable tourist experiences, with a special emphasis on segments such as gastronomy, wine, culture, community tourism, romance, and meetings.

“In Guanajuato, we understand that tourism promotion must be accompanied by content, product, and vision. That's why we are here, to showcase who we are, but also to open avenues for commercialization, alliances, and results for our communities,” stated the Secretary.

With this first day, Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to continue building solid, articulated, and long-term tourism promotion, in which every action is aimed at generating greater positioning, more visitors, and better opportunities for the entire tourism value chain.
