- Everyone will be able to enjoy the sky filled with color with +200 static balloons from 25 countries thanks to the Viernes de La Gente (People's Friday).
- Guanajuato continues to consolidate itself as a world-class destination with the Festival of Festivals.

The sky of Guanajuato will once again be filled with color, music and excitement with the inauguration of the International Balloon Festival (FIG) 2025, which will take place from November 14 to 17 at the Metropolitan Park of Leon.

This year, the festival will begin with a great novelty: “People's Friday”, a day of free access for all families, announced by governor-elect Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, which will open the doors of the event to thousands of visitors from the early hours of Friday the 14th.

The initiative seeks to ensure that no one is left out of one of the most anticipated festivals in the country. “Viernes de la Gente” is an invitation to the people of León to live the full FIG experience in the morning at no cost, enjoying the first hot air balloon launches, and in the evening, access to the opening show of Gloria Trevi will be free of charge.

The International Balloon Festival is one of Mexico's most emblematic tourism events and one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the world. With the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Identity of the State (SECTURI), the festival achieves international projection and strengthens its leadership as a cultural and economic engine of the Bajío region.

The event will feature the participation of more than 200 hot air balloons from 25 countries, including 30 special figures, ten of which will debut for the first time in the Leonese sky. Among the most expected are Swiss Cow (Switzerland), Hammerhead Shark (Brazil), Save Me (Lithuania), with its environmental message, and the official Disneyland balloon, which will celebrate its 70th anniversary flying for the first time outside the United States, with Mickey and Minnie Mouse as protagonists.

For more than two decades, the FIG has brought together more than six million attendees from Mexico and 25 countries. Its economic impact is remarkable: an estimated 850 million pesos in revenue and a hotel occupancy rate of 90% during the four days of the event. In 2024, the festival's digital content reached more than 425 million people around the world and generated 3,500 news articles in national and international media.

The festival not only fills the sky, it also drives the heart of the local economy. Each edition generates 250 direct jobs and more than 4 thousand indirect jobs, benefiting hoteliers, restaurateurs, transporters, artisans, local artists, entrepreneurs and families around the Metropolitan Park.

This year, the festival will present two major social innovations, the Caravanas de la Gente, which will take hot air balloons to different municipalities in Guanajuato, and the Pabellón de la Gente, where products with the Guanajuato Brand will be exhibited and marketed, strengthening local consumption and regional identity.

FIG 2025 will feature a world-class music lineup that will appeal to audiences of all ages.

On Friday 14, during the Viernes de la Gente, Gloria Trevi will perform, marking the opening of the festival.

On Saturday the 15th, León's sky will be transformed into a light track with The Dream Nite, where international DJs Dimitri Vegas and Afrojack will shine in an unprecedented show of electronic music.

On Sunday 16, the musical closing will be in charge of the singer Carín León, Mexican pride that promises to fill the esplanade of the Metropolitan Park with emotion.

The Magic Nights will return with their illuminated flights, Star Dance drone choreographies and synchronized music, while the Coca-Cola Stage Alternative Forum will offer a space for local and national artists, promoting Guanajuato talent and family entertainment.

FIG León takes place in the Metropolitan Park, a protected natural area that is transformed every November into the aerial heart of Mexico. The event operates under strict sustainability and environmental care measures, guaranteeing that each flight and show is carried out with ecological responsibility.

In its 2024 edition, the festival awarded 1,500 courtesies to associations and foundations such as Dr. Sonrisas, ALUCCA, Inspiración del Corazón, DIF León and rural schools, reaffirming its social commitment and inclusive approach.

The Government of the People, through the Ministry of Tourism and Identity, promotes the FIG in coordination with the organizing committee and municipal authorities, with the purpose of consolidating a safe, inclusive and emblematic event, which continues to project León and Guanajuato as a venue for major world-class events.

More than a festival, FIG 2025 will be a celebration of who we are: a people who look to the sky with hope, who transform their creativity into an economic engine, and who celebrate their identity with pride.
