If you have the opportunity to visit Silao, there's a place you absolutely cannot leave out of your itinerary: Cerro del Cubilete. This impressive mountain not only stands out for its natural beauty but also for housing one of the most emblematic religious monuments in the country: the Sanctuary of Christ the King, also known as the Christ of the Mountain.
Located approximately 30 kilometers from Silao, 30 km from Guanajuato city, and 50 km from León, this destination combines history, spirituality, and spectacular views in one place.

A giant in the heights

With an altitude of 2,579 meters above sea level, Cerro del Cubilete rises even 150 meters higher than Machu Picchu in Peru. From its summit, the landscape stretches in all directions, offering panoramic views that truly make you feel on top of the world.

The monumental Christ was built in the 1940s and has since become a symbol of faith and pride for Guanajuato. Beyond its religious significance, the site represents a cultural and historical gathering place that attracts visitors from all over Mexico and abroad.

How to enjoy your visit
