Xolotar Ranch
editorial staff

Rancho Xotolar is a working ranch that has belonged to the Morín Ruiz family for over four generations. We are located in the high plateau, 18 kilometers from the center of San Miguel de Allende, in a rural and pristine environment that remains practically untouched by modernization. Our land is adjacent to the newly opened archaeological site of Cañada de la Virgen, a pre-Columbian construction of pyramids and other architectural structures from the central Laja River basin, attributed to Toltec-Chichimec groups from central Mexico.
Here, our guests can experience the authentic cultural life of Mexico, both today and yesterday. They will enjoy spacious open areas, not as tourists, but as members of the Morin family. They will tour the spectacular countryside with breathtaking views and extraordinary landscapes, guided by Thomás and Félix Morin, who will share their extensive knowledge and experience, always keeping your safety in mind.

Half Day Horseback Riding in the Canyon
The ranch, located 30 minutes from the city, offers a 2.5 hour excursion that begins with a theoretical introduction to mountaineering. During the tour, you climb to the top of the canyon to enjoy spectacular scenery and make stops at the river to gallop and refresh yourself. You also go up the canyon, skirting 50-meter cliffs, with the option of rappelling down. At the end, a traditional meal is offered, including tortillas, fresh cheese, organic beans, quesadillas, nopales, rice, fresh salsas, guacamole and salad.
Hot Air Balloon Flight
The hot air balloon flight takes place every day of the week, early in the morning to ensure good weather conditions. The meeting point is between 6 and 6:45 am (time and place to be confirmed). Participants are taken to the takeoff, where they can observe the preparation of the equipment. The flight aims to fly close to the historic center and the Parish of San Miguel Arcangel, varying the altitude according to the air currents, from a few meters above the ground to above the clouds.
Cantinas Night Horseback Rides
As night falls, we ride through the beautiful streets of San Miguel, passing by emblematic places. After passing through Benito Juárez Park and downtown, we arrive at the illuminated San Miguel Arcángel Parish Church and the Main Garden. During the ride, we visited historic cantinas in town, where we listened to anecdotes from the bartenders and locals, toasting to future adventures.
