Guanajuato is preparing to close the 2026 grape harvest festival season with wine, gastronomy, and identity experiences; there are still dates for wine tourism experiences that offer us the opportunity to discover the culture of wine and strengthen local economies.

The 2026 Guanajuato grape harvest festival season is coming to a close, inviting visitors and wine lovers to enjoy the final experiences of a celebration that brings together the flavors of the land, gastronomy, wine-growing landscapes, and the talent of those who have made this activity an opportunity for development for their communities.

Under the leadership of Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, in the Government of the People, through the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), we continue to promote wine tourism as an alternative to diversify the offer, attract visitors, and generate opportunities for producers, service providers, restaurants, businesses, and communities.
In 2026, attendance is estimated at 17,100 people over the season, which comprises 16 dates spread across Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel de Allende, San Felipe, Irapuato and Silao.

With an offer that includes more than 80 experiences in more than 80 vineyards, the grape harvest festivals have strengthened the state’s presence as a wine tourism destination, bringing people closer to the culture of wine through tastings, vineyard tours, gastronomic offerings, and activities that allow them to learn about the work that goes into each harvest.

In addition, in 2026, Guanajuato is expanding its promotion of experiences that highlight the identity of our destinations, being the founding host of the CMB International Gala Guanajuato, an experience that on November 29 and 30 will bring wine, gastronomy, tourism, and the identity of the state together in San Miguel de Allende.

“This type of event is set to revolutionize Guanajuato, and we will keep becoming the epicenter of wine in Mexico and, very soon, surely in the Americas. Our state will once again bring together the best wines in the world and with them an entire international industry”, said the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato, María Guadalupe Robles León, during the presentation of San Miguel de Allende as the founding venue of the CMB International Gala Guanajuato.

The first CMB International Gala Guanajuato 2026, an event that will take place on November 29 and 30 in San Miguel de Allende, with the participation of producers, buyers, specialists, media outlets, and opinion leaders from different countries.

Approximately 500 guests are expected to attend, 300 of whom are international and 200 national, as well as the tentative participation of representatives from 28 countries and territories, which will enable the creation of strategic links between industry players and the expansion of opportunities for promoting and marketing wine.

Wine, an experience that connects with identity

For Guanajuato, the grape harvest festivals represent much more than harvesting grapes: they are an opportunity to learn about the wine-making process, discover the landscapes of Guanajuato, and share the stories of the people who work in the fields and in the wineries.

Guanajuato is currently Mexico’s fourth-largest wine producer and fifth-largest producer of wine grapes. That is why this season matters: it has brought people closer to the state’s wine-growing wealth through experiences that combine tradition, innovation, gastronomy, and hospitality.

This is how the varieties of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, continue to open new paths for Guanajuato’s winemaking, supporting the development of everyone in the tourism value chain.

That is why the final stretch of the 2026 Grape Harvest Festivals is an invitation to plan a getaway, get to know the vineyards and enjoy the experiences that are still part of the season. Because for the Government of the People, discovering Guanajuato also means raising a glass to its land, its people, and the stories that arise from it.
