With activities planned for Day of the Dead in different regions of Guanajuato, the Government of the People reaffirms its work to strengthen the cultural identity that seeks to attract visitors, boosting local spending and the economy.

Paths to Mictlán are about to open with festivals, tours, artistic expressions, and traditions that honor the memory of those who have already departed, but that in the municipalities of Guanajuato we honor with the Day of the Dead.

According to the strategy of the Governor of the People Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI) reiterates its support for the wide range of activities that will take place in destinations across Guanajuato, where customs, gastronomy, art, and community participation make this season an opportunity to discover and enjoy the cultural richness of the seven regions of Guanajuato.

“This diversity of events represents an opportunity to attract more local, national and international visitors, encourage overnight stays and spending at lodging establishments, restaurants, shops and tourism services, as well as generate economic activity that directly benefits the host communities”, said the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, María Guadalupe Robles León.

The Secretariat also stressed that the impact of these celebrations on tourism helps preserve traditions, pass knowledge down between generations, and recognize the value of the people who keep the cultural expressions of each municipality alive.

Through these experiences, the Government of the People, by means of the SECTURI, promotes tourism with identity that recognizes the wealth of its communities and works to bring the benefits of tourism to more regions of the state.
