The 14th Guanajuato Traditional Cuisine Encounter ¡Sí Sabe! 2026 is a valuable promotional platform for the gastronomy of Guanajuato.
The People's Government of Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, and the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), are honored to announce the successful completion of the First Preliminary of the 14th Traditional Cuisine Encounter 2026, held in the Enchantment of Guanajuato: Cañada de Caracheo, in Cortázar.
The 14th Traditional Cuisine Meeting Guanajuato, Yes It Knows! 2026, is a valuable promotional platform for our State's gastronomy, which highlights the richness and diversity of endemic flavors, while also fostering interest in the traditional cuisine of the different regions of Guanajuato.
This gastronomic event takes place in two fundamental stages: three preliminaries and the grand final in the municipality of Irapuato, on May 30 and 31, 2026.
During the preliminary stages, representatives from the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato actively participate, showcasing their gastronomic specialties and sharing their culinary traditions. These participants are evaluated by a judging panel that will determine which dish is the most representative of each municipality, allowing it to advance to the grand finale.
On May 3, 2026, the First Preliminary competition took place at El Encanto de Guanajuato in Cañada de Caracheo, within the municipality of Cortazar. Twenty-one cooks participated, representing 14 municipalities: Abasolo, Apaseo el Grande, Apaseo el Alto, Celaya, Comonfort, Cortazar, Irapuato, Manuel Doblado, Pénjamo, Purísima del Rincón, Salamanca, San Francisco del Rincón, Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas, and Silao de la Victoria.
For the grand final event, there will be a representative cook from each participating municipality, as well as exhibitors of beverages and spirits, and artisans from all over the state.
The next activities are scheduled for: May 9th for the Second Preliminary in the Main Garden of Nuevo Chupícuaro, Acámbaro; and May 17th for the Third Preliminary in the Main Garden of Tierra Blanca. The Grand Finale will be on May 30th and 31st in the Historic Center of Irapuato.
