The state's participation in the main meeting industry event in Latin America strengthens the attraction of events, congresses, and investments for Guanajuato.

Thanks to the coordinated work of the Guanajuato Tourism Promotion Council (COFOTUR) and its Board of Directors, Guanajuato strengthens its international presence in FIEXPO Latin America 2026, the most important event in the meetings, congresses, conventions, and incentive travel industry in Latin America, which will be held at San José, Costa Rica.

This participation is part of the tourism promotion and marketing strategy driven by COFOTUR, organization that works in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism and Identity of the Government of the People, to position the state in national and international markets, generating new business opportunities for Guanajuato's destinations, companies, and tourism service providers.

The presence in FIEXPO It represents a strategic platform for marketing Guanajuato as one of Mexico's most competitive destinations for congresses, conventions, incentive travel, and corporate events. Through an intensive work agenda, the Guanajuato delegation presents the state's infrastructure, connectivity, hotel capacity, and broad tourism offerings to international buyers, professional event organizers, associations, and decision-makers.

During the event, specialized business meetings are held that showcase Guanajuato's strengths as a host destination for large-format events. These meetings generate concrete opportunities to attract future international congresses, conventions, and meetings that will positively impact the local and regional economy.

Likewise, the agenda includes participation in training and updating spaces such as FIEXPO Connecting Minds, The Latin American Political Forum y The Convention Bureau Challenge, where trends, success stories, and strategies are shared to strengthen the competitiveness of destinations in the global meetings market.

The meetings industry represents one of the tourism segments with the greatest economic impact due to the spillover it generates in sectors such as lodging, transportation, food and beverage, commerce, specialized services, and complementary activities. Therefore, attracting national and international events is a priority to strengthen Guanajuato's competitiveness and economic development.
