Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to a vision of community tourism aligned with the federal strategy.
As part of the preliminary activities for the launch of the 50th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México 2026, the head of the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI) of the State of Guanajuato, María Guadalupe Robles León, participated this Sunday in the 68th Assembly of the Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico (ASETUR), a key venue for dialogue, coordination, and agreement building to strengthen national tourism policy, which this year also considers the country's participation in the 2026 Football World Cup.
The day's agenda included the National Conference of Secretaries of Tourism and Tourism Officials, followed by the ASETUR Assembly, at Camino Real Acapulco Diamante.
“The 68th ASETUR Assembly is aimed at achieving organization, coordination, and a common path among all the Tourism Secretaries in the country, with a vision that places communities and the people who depend on tourism at the center. We are constantly working on this,” said the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato, María Guadalupe Robles León.
This meeting, held on the eve of the World Cup, represents an opportunity to articulate efforts between federative entities and the Government of Mexico, at a juncture where tourism is consolidating as a tool for economic development, identity, and well-being for communities.
Lupita Robles assured that for Guanajuato, this space also allows reaffirming its alignment with the federal strategy in Community Tourism. “Today more than ever, Community Tourism represents a way to bring opportunities to more localities, strengthen the identity of our destinations, and build more just, closer tourism development with shared benefits,” said Robles León.
Guanajuato's participation in this assembly takes place within the framework of the agenda led by the federal Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, with whom institutional work is strengthened to promote a more inclusive, sustainable tourism vision with greater territorial impact.
With this participation, Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to continue working in coordination with the Federal government and other entities in the country, promoting a global tourism agenda with a vision for the future, identity, and social responsibility.
