The signing of the coordination and collaboration agreement is to develop actions, programs, and projects that promote tourism and business linkage.

The Secretariat of Tourism and Identity of the State of Guanajuato (SECTURI) and Guanajuato Puerto Interior GPI, A.C., signed a coordination and collaboration agreement to develop actions, programs, and projects that promote tourism, foster business connections, and create new opportunities for the state's tourism value chain.

On behalf of the Government of the People of Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, María Guadalupe Robles León, highlighted that this alliance opens new paths to connect tourism with innovation, business activity, and the tourist identity of Guanajuato.

“For SECTUR, this collaboration represents the opportunity to bring Guanajuato's tourism offerings closer to a business ecosystem with national and international reach. This synergy allows us to promote business tourism, technical visits, industrial tourism, social tourism, destination promotion, business meetings, and new commercial opportunities for hotels, restaurants, guides, operators, venues, traditional cooks, artisans, and tourism service providers,” stated María Guadalupe Robles León.

Guanajuato Puerto Interior is a world-class industrial logistics hub featuring highway connectivity, a specialized rail freight terminal, the Guanajuato Inland Customs Office, a business district, an education and training zone, a community services center, a corporate social responsibility center, proximity to Bajío International Airport, and six industrial parks with 90% of occupied space.

Currently, this ecosystem has 141 established companies, investments from 18 countries, over 30,000 jobs created, 1,506 hectares of total surface area, $5.5 billion in accumulated national and foreign investment, and a daily inflow of 24,800 vehicles.

The agreement contemplates joint promotion of events, projects, and strategic initiatives; organization of business meetings, forums, fairs, and conferences; training and business development programs; promotion of Guanajuato's tourism offering in the business sphere; and development of projects to attract visitors, investments, and economic activities.

This collaboration also opens a route to strengthen industrial tourism, a segment recognized in the Law of Tourism for the State of Guanajuato and its Municipalities, as an activity that generates visits based on knowledge of facilities, manufacturing processes, technology, internal management, and the history of industry in the state.

Guanajuato joins this alliance with positive indicators in tourism activity. In 2025, the state recorded 23,805,915 visitors, an economic impact of 57,108,386,108 pesos, 209,194 people employed in restaurants and accommodation services, and 3,301,500 passengers at the airport.

From the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity, a work agenda will be promoted with vision, order, and proximity, so that this alliance translates into more promotion, greater connection with the business sector, and benefits for tourism communities.

With this signature, the Government of the People breaks new ground to connect economic development, tourism, and identity, through coordinated actions that will showcase Guanajuato's tourism vocations in new spaces of opportunity.

The meeting was attended by Héctor López Santillana, Director of Guanajuato Puerto Interior; Alberto Soto Ontiveros, President of Guanajuato Puerto Interior Organizations GPI, A.C., Gonzalo León Zavala, Director of Administration and Linkage, David Ayala Saucedo, Undersecretary of Tourism Identity and Development; Armando Gasca, Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion, and Marco Antonio Morales García, Director General of Tourism Innovation and Intelligence.
