Specialized suppliers and leaders of the MICE sector from all over Latin America confirmed the benefits of León for serving the segment.
Guanajuato consolidated its position as one of the country's most competitive destinations in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment with the staging of FIEXPO Workshop & Technical Visit León 2026, a strategic gathering that drives the attraction of international events and strengthens the professionalization of the meetings industry in the state.
“Today Guanajuato opens new paths to the world, positioning itself as a reliable, competitive destination prepared to host international-caliber events,” said the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato, María Guadalupe Robles León.
He highlighted that this meeting represents a key moment for consolidating Guanajuato's vocation in meetings tourism and its international projection, just as envisioned by the governor for the people, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo.
“The MICE segment is strategic because it generates economic impact, professionalizes our people, and strengthens the entire tourism value chain,” stated Robles León.
From March 17th to 20th, León will host this event, bringing together highly qualified international buyers, specialized suppliers, and industry leaders from Latin America. The event will generate over 900 business meetings, as well as high-level training sessions, supported by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), a global benchmark in the industry.
“We continue to drive a clear strategy: attracting events that bring real benefits to our communities and showcase the best of Guanajuato globally,” added the head of SECTURI.
For her part, the event's General Director, Caro Adano, emphasized FIEXPO's relevance as a specialized networking platform for the destination.
“FIEXPO allows us to directly connect with decision-makers looking for solid destinations, and Guanajuato today meets that expectation thanks to its infrastructure, its talent, and its capacity for specialized attention,” he expressed.
This international push is part of a comprehensive strategy that positions Guanajuato as a benchmark for meetings tourism in the center of the country, highlighting six key destinations with MICE vocations: León, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato Capital, Irapuato, Celaya, and Silao.
Each of these municipalities has infrastructure, connectivity, specialized venues, and a professionalized value chain that allows them to cater to congresses, conventions, exhibitions, and incentive travel with international standards.
