The construction of the temple began on January 6, 1896, in a time when the population and resources were limited. Just a couple of years later, the work had to stop for the first time, marking the beginning of a history full of pauses and challenges.
Over the decades, factors such as the Mexican Revolution and the Cristero War further complicated its construction.
However, the community's faith never disappeared.
The impulse that changed their story
A new design and a united community
It wasn't until 1941 that the project took a definitive direction, thanks to the leadership of priest José de Jesús Angulo y Navarro, known as “José del Valle”.
With his arrival, not only were the works resumed, but the original design was also rethought, giving rise to the temple we know today. Construction continued under the direction of Father Joaquín
Soto Armenta until its conclusion in 1953.
This collective effort turned the temple into a true symbol of unity and perseverance.
