Located in the heart of the Bajío, the Templo de San Agustín, known as the Casa de Oro, is an architectural jewel of Mexican Baroque, built in 1609. It stands out for its 11 golden altarpieces from the 18th century that illuminate its interior, offering an impressive visual spectacle.

This temple was founded by Fray Diego de Avila and culminated its construction in two stages, with the incorporation of the majestic altarpieces in 1761. Upon entering, visitors can admire works of viceregal art and scenes that reflect the devotion of the time.
