Temple of St. James the Apostle in Marfil
The Templo del Señor Santiago Apóstol in Marfil is an important baroque building, one of the oldest of its kind in the region, whose construction began in 1641 and ended in 1695. It is located in the old mining town of Marfil, Guanajuato, which eventually became a ghost town, affecting the temple. However, it has been the object of historical and architectural recovery efforts, and is now used for cultural events such as ancient and contemporary music ensembles.
