St. Michael the Archangel Parish
Icon of the city. Its history dates back to the 17th century, when it was built as a modest baroque-style church. In 1880, its façade was redesigned by Zeferino Gutiérrez, an indigenous mason, who transformed it into an impressive neo-Gothic structure inspired by European cathedrals.
