Purisima del Rincon, Gto. - August 26, 2025. The seventh edition of the Nut and Quince Gastronomic Fair in the Magical Town of Jalpa de Cánovas exceeded all expectations, gathering more than 14,500 attendees during the day that began at 10 am and concluded shortly after 10 pm.
The event attracted visitors from different municipalities of Guanajuato, as well as from Jalisco, Michoacán, Querétaro, Zacatecas, Mexico City and abroad, particularly from the United States.
The gastronomic offer was one of the great attractions: typical products made with walnuts and quince were added to traditional dishes such as walnut mole, cecina enchiladas from Purisima, various preparations with quince, as well as handicrafts, workshops and the characteristic warmth of the people of Jalpa, factors that made the event an unforgettable experience.
The success was reflected not only in the number of visitors, but also in the participation of service providers. In 2025, this grew by 25 percent over the previous year, reaching 65 percent local participation, which represented a significant economic benefit for the community.
Restaurants, hotels and tourism providers in the Magical Town reported full house during the day.
In addition, the fair distinguished itself for being a sustainable event, free of single-use plastics, promoting the use of reusable and biodegradable materials. These actions not only reduced the environmental impact, but also reinforced the municipality's commitment to responsible and inclusive tourism, aligned with state sustainability policies.
The Municipal President of Purísima del Rincón, Roberto García Urbano, highlighted the impulse that has been given to tourism in recent years, noting that the people have joined together to strengthen the tourism project, consolidating Purísima as a destination for quality events.
On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Identity, David Ayala Saucedo, General Director of Tourism Development, recognized the municipality for the success achieved, highlighting the quality of the event and the results obtained when there is coordinated work aimed at strengthening the Magical Towns of Guanajuato.
The visitors agreed in recognizing the beauty of the Magical Town, the quality of its gastronomy, the great variety of shows and the organization of the event, expressing their satisfaction for having lived a unique experience in Jalpa de Canovas.
The Pecan and Quince Fair reaffirms the cultural, gastronomic and sustainable identity of Jalpa de Canovas, Pueblo Magico, consolidating it as a tourist destination of excellence in Guanajuato.
