The Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato, María Guadalupe Robles León, participates in the report of the mayor of Romita, representing Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo; accompanying the promotion, training, and creation of experiences that bring opportunities closer to families.

Traditional cuisine, the Torito dance and Romita’s heritage are the basis of a tourism offer that the municipality of Romita is developing. Government of the People It accompanies promotion, training, and support for events to attract visitors and strengthen local businesses.

On behalf of the Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, The Secretary of Tourism and Identity, María Guadalupe Robles León, participated in the Second Government Report of Mayor Pedro Kiyoshi Tanamachi Reyes, where the state's support for the municipality's tourism development was reaffirmed.

“We want more people to visit Romita, shop in its businesses, and return, so that tourism opens up opportunities for their families and communities.”, said the Secretary.

Through the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), this accompaniment includes support for the celebrations marking the anniversaries of the founding of the municipality, the Gastronomic Festival El Mole de Romita and the Guadalupanas festivities of the previous edition, as well as its promotion in the press, advertising spaces and the state's tourist networks.

The work also includes training in community tourism, gastronomic innovation and digital tools, support for a business through 100% Tourism, and cultural tourism and identity activities aimed at the population.

The Secretariat supports the development of experiences around the Torito Dance, traditional cuisine, and the agricultural and livestock legacy. Romita is also involved in updating the Tourism Sustainability Model, with the aim of linking its tourism growth with the preservation of heritage and the benefit of its communities.

The agenda includes new training sessions, a day dedicated to the State Tourism Registry and support for Globo Fest Romita in the Alturas. Furthermore, the application for the next edition of the Traditional Guadalupan Festivities is being reviewed and follow-up is being given to efforts to rehabilitate Miguel Hidalgo Garden and build the commercial islands of the Romita Pavilion.

As part of the Southwest Tourist Region, the municipality offers attractions such as the Hidalgo Main Garden, the former Hacienda de San Clemente, the Parish Shrine of Santa María de Guadalupe, and the Chapingo Spa. The Piñata Fiesta, the Mole Festival, the Romita Fair, the Torito Fiesta and Dance, and the seasonal festivals complement this offering.

Its food and beverage establishments, lodging services, travel agencies, transportation companies, recreational facilities and spaces constitute a base for developing new experiences. Additionally, its proximity to industrial parks and its connections with Silao, Irapuato, El Saucillo and Guanajuato Puerto Interior open up possibilities to attract those who come to the region for work or business.

The People's Government continues to support Romita so that her traditions can become a reason for visitors to come and that tourism can generate opportunities for the families, producers and businesses of the municipality.
