The state stands out for creating unforgettable lodging experiences according to the Michelin Guide.
The prestigious Michelin Guide recognized nine hotels in the state with the distinction of “Michelin Keys” in its most recent international count, and singles them out as a symbol of excellence in hospitality. This achievement positions Guanajuato as a benchmark of authentic luxury and world-class hospitality.
Among the outstanding hotels, Casa de Sierra Nevada, A Belmond Hotel, in San Miguel de Allende, stands out, having been awarded two Michelin keys, consolidating its position as an icon of luxury and tradition. Located in a colonial hacienda, it combines historic elegance with exceptional services.
In the same municipality, the hotels Casa 1810 Hotel Boutique, Casa Hoyos, Hotel Casa Blanca 7, Hotel Matilda, L'Ôtel - Casa Arca, Maison Mexique and Our Habitas San Miguel received a Michelin key, reaffirming San Miguel de Allende as an ideal place for luxury hotels.
In Guanajuato Capital, the Nueve 25 Hotel Boutique was also recognized with a key, standing out for its avant-garde design and personalized attention in the heart of the heritage city.
The Keys represent the highest international hotel recognition. They are awarded by anonymous inspectors who evaluate excellence in service and experience, authenticity and sense of place, quality in design and comfort, as well as commitment to sustainability and community impact.
Like the Michelin Stars in gastronomy, the Keys classify hotels in three categories, Three keys are awarded to unique hotels in the world, with memorable experiences. Two keys are given to exceptional proposals that justify a special trip and One key is given to accommodation sites, outstanding for their quality and personality.
