- It's raining bread in Acámbaro; heading towards the 500th anniversary of its Legal Foundation.
The Baking Fair is part of the commemorative activities for the 500th anniversary of the Legal Foundation of Acámbaro.

On behalf of the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, led the traditional Bread Shower, of the Fair Baking of Acámbaro, a celebration that recognizes the legacy of baking families and reaffirms traditions as a driver of identity, tourism, and development for communities.

After participating in the traditional Bread Rain, the holder of the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity explained that the Government of the People recognizes that the traditions of the municipalities are one of Guanajuato's greatest strengths for promoting tourism, strengthening the local economy, and preserving the identity of the people of Guanajuato.

And before municipal authorities, members of the Commission for the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Legal Foundation of Acámbaro, the Association of Bakers of Acámbaro, the master bakers, as well as all the people who make this celebration possible; Robles León highlighted that the Breadmaking Fair represents one of the most important expressions of Acambaro's identity, by valuing a trade that for generations has been preserved by families who keep their traditional recipes, knowledge, and techniques alive.

The Secretary emphasized that behind every piece of bread there is talent, dedication, effort, and a deep love for the land that has allowed Acámbaro to consolidate itself as a national benchmark for traditional baking.

Likewise, he highlighted the significance of the traditional Bread Rain, held in honor of the Virgin of Refuge, as an expression of faith that symbolizes blessing, abundance, and prosperity for the families of the municipality.

Furthermore, the Secretary pointed out that traditions also represent an opportunity to strengthen tourism activity by attracting visitors, encouraging local consumption, and generating benefits for merchants, service providers, artisans, traditional cooks, producers, and entire families.

The Baking Fair also part of the commemorative program for the 500 Years of the Legal Foundation of Acámbaro, a celebration that over the coming months will bring together cultural, historical, religious, gastronomic, artistic, and community activities to recognize the municipality's heritage and promote it as a tourist destination with unique richness, as Acámbaro It has an invaluable legacy represented by the culture Chupícuaro, its railway history, its temples, its historical heritage, its landscapes, its gastronomy, and its traditional bread, elements that strengthen the municipality's identity and enrich Guanajuato's tourism offerings.
