Promotions, discounts, packages, special offers, and above all, experiences; that's what La Gran Escapada, Mexico's Grand Tourism Finale, will have in store for you in 2026.
Through a national hybrid and simultaneous press conference with the participation of all 32 states of the republic, the presentation of the second edition of La Gran Escapada, El Buen Fin del Turismo, was announced. This is a national initiative that will take place from June 18th to 21st, with the intention of making promotions, discounts, and tourist experiences available to travelers to explore Mexico with accessible prices and exclusive offers.
The Government of the People, led by Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, through the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), joined the presentation of the Great Tourism End 2026, promoting the destinations of our Guanajuato. This reaffirms the potential of our two World Heritage Cities (Guanajuato capital and San Miguel de Allende), as well as our six Magical Towns (Dolores Hidalgo, Mineral de Pozos, Comonfort, Jalpa de Cánovas, Salvatierra, and Yuriria); and our Seven Charms of Guanajuato (Tierra Blanca, Atarjea, Nuevo Valle de Moreno, Nuevo Chupícuaro, Cañada de Caracheo, Puruagua, and San Miguel de Ixtla).
“This initiative helps us boost the reach of our destination through the operators joining La Gran Escapada; we are aligned with the Federal Government's strategy to attract more tourism to our communities, because people are the main beneficiaries of all this tourist movement. And that is the same mission we have followed through the vision of our Governor,” said the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, María Guadalupe Robles León.
From the Federation, the Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, explained that this strategy, in its second edition, estimates an economic impact of over 44 billion pesos; strengthening national tourism, boosting local consumption, and generating Shared Prosperity in the country's tourist communities.
In the same virtual federal press conference, which was simultaneously held in person in León, the President of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism in León (CANACO) Servitur León, Juan Carlos Moreno Rodríguez, reiterated that this initiative, coordinated between the private and public sectors, seeks for tourism promotion to directly impact the economy, making travel easier than ever.
Through discounts, experiences, packages, guides, and routes, national tourism aims to activate the local economy without neglecting the international projection that is approaching with the next Football World Cup, for which Mexico will be a host, with Guanajuato serving as the “half-time” of this Grand Tour.
This national call for service providers to join and become part of Mexico's tourism and economic family will be active until June 27th, through the website: lagranescapada.com.mx; don't miss out.
