The Guanajuato Film Commission is launching two calls for proposals to support projects that promote the state's tourist, cultural, and identity attractions.
- Interested individuals can register from June 8-30 and July 16-31, 2026.
As part of the People's Government's strategy to strengthen the audiovisual industry and position Guanajuato as a world-class filming destination, the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTOR), through the Guanajuato Film Commission, launched the Support Grant Program Cinematic and Audiovisual Projects 2026.
This program aims to encourage the production of film and audiovisual content that promotes the state's tourist, historical, natural, and architectural attractions, while strengthening Guanajuato's identity and generating opportunities for economic and creative development.
“In Guanajuato, we believe in the power of stories to inspire, connect, and transform. Every audiovisual production made in our state becomes a window that shows the world our cultural richness, our landscapes, and the greatness of our people,” highlighted the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, Lupita Robles León.
To access the resources of the Development Fund Guanajuato State Film and Audiovisual Activities, those interested must participate in one of the two calls for proposals planned for this year.
First call
- Pre-registration: June 8 to June 30, 2026.
- Document submission deadline: July 13, 2026.
- Pitch Session: July 21, 2026.
Second call
- Pre-registration: July 16 to July 31, 2026.
- Document upload deadline: August 12, 2026.
- Pitch Session: August 19, 2026.
The selected projects must formalize an agreement with the SECTURI and meet the verification, execution, and closing requirements within fiscal year 2026.
Among the criteria that will be considered for evaluation are the projects' capacity to disseminate Guanajuato's tourist attractions, incentivize public, private, and social investment in the audiovisual industry, and strengthen the positioning of the state's historical, natural, and architectural locations.
“We want more production companies, directors, content creators, and audiovisual companies to find an ally in Guanajuato to develop their projects. Our state has unique settings, infrastructure, talent, and public policy that drives the industry,” added Robles León.
The selection process includes three stages: pre-registration and document upload, presentation of a pitch to the Committee for the Support of Film and Audiovisual Projects, and formalization of the corresponding agreement.
During the Pitch phase, participants will have five minutes to present their project and outline the benefits it will generate for Guanajuato, the locations where it will be developed, and the expected impact on the entity's audiovisual and tourism industries.
Projects supported must be carried out within the state of Guanajuato and contribute to the fulfillment of the objectives established in the Law for the Promotion of the Cinematographic and Audiovisual Industry of the State of Guanajuato.

With these actions, the Government of the People continues to consolidate Guanajuato as a competitive destination for the film and audiovisual industry, promoting tourism, generating investment, and developing projects that project the state's identity nationally and internationally.
