This Gastronomic Season concludes on August 30, 2026, with the participation of 33 municipalities in the State of Guanajuato.
In Guanajuato, identity can also be savored, which is why the Government of the People, through the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity (SECTUR), invites Guanajuatenses, as well as visitors from all over the country, to be part of the Guanajuato Gastronomic Season: It Knows!, a celebration that brings together the flavors, knowledge, and traditions that distinguish every corner of our state.
Through festivals, fairs, and culinary experiences, this season opens a window to discover the richness of traditional cuisine, endemic ingredients, Guanajuato wines and spirits, as well as contemporary gastronomic offerings that make Guanajuato a unique destination to enjoy with all the senses.
This Gastronomic Season, which began last May 16 and will continue until August 30th, continues to consolidate itself as a platform that promotes the gastronomic heritage of Guanajuato through experiences that celebrate and distinguish each region, with festivals dedicated to corn, mango, lamb, ceremonial tortilla, and traditional indigenous cuisine, in specialized gatherings that also include products such as tequila, mezcal, pulque, craft beer, and wine; a program that seeks to bring visitors closer to the Guanajuato's gastronomic essence.
In addition, the Gastronomic Season It also strengthens the work of traditional cooks, local producers, artisans, entrepreneurs, and tourism service providers, generating productive linkages that directly impact regional economies.
Because more than an events calendar, the Gastronomic Season is an invitation to explore our municipalities, meet those who preserve culinary heritage from generation to generation, and experience traditions that strengthen pride in our roots, boost the local economy, and solidify Guanajuato as a destination where tradition and innovation meet in every dish.
With this strategy, the Secretariat of Tourism and Identity reaffirms its commitment to promoting gastronomic heritage as a driver of tourism, cultural, and economic development in the municipalities, strengthening pride in the traditions that give flavor and identity to Guanajuato, while simultaneously boosting hotel occupancy, economic spending, and the consumption of local products.
Because in Guanajuato, each dish tells a story, each ingredient holds a tradition, and each municipality has a flavor to share.
