The Parish is not only a place of worship, but also the definitive home of the Virgen de la Luz, a venerated figure in the region. History tells that this pilgrim virgin used to move along the Batanes Bridge, making her way of devotion until, in 1808, she was finally moved to this sanctuary, where she has remained ever since.
