Description:

In the workshop, the men of the family have learned to master the use of pedal-operated looms, an artisanal form that reflects the dedication and skill of its creators. Oliverio uses high-quality cotton yarns, which are first dyed in a barrel with boiled water and sodium sulfide, a process that ensures vibrant, long-lasting colors. The strands are then dried in the sun, an essential step that enhances the natural beauty of the material.

The rebozos that Oliverio produces are true works of art, adorned with black and white designs that evoke the tradition and style of the region. Many of these textiles are sent to markets in Uriangato or Zamora, where they are valued for their quality and connection to the local culture.

Visiting Oliverio García's workshop is an opportunity to connect with the history of Yuriria through his artisan hands. Not only will you be able to observe the process of making these beautiful rebozos, but you will also have the opportunity to learn about the techniques and traditions that have made this family a pillar in the textile community.
