Description:
This place, which traces its origins to the end of the 19th century, is a window to the agricultural and cultural past of the region. The hacienda was inherited by Guadalupe Cánovas from her father, and although today only the old shell remains, its history is still alive in every corner.
The hacienda's main house has been transformed into a museum that invites visitors to explore its rich history. As you enter the grounds, you will discover what life was like on the farm and how its agricultural system worked. Through fascinating exhibits, the museum will take you on a journey through the traditions and customs of the hacienda's inhabitants, revealing secrets of a time when agriculture was at the heart of the community.
Around the hull, you can still see some of the buildings that were part of the hacienda complex, such as the trojes, the tienda de raya, the administrator's house and the Guadalupe shrine. Each of these spaces tells a part of the history of the hacienda, allowing you to imagine how daily life was organized in this place.
The hacienda extended over two thirds of the property, composed of valleys and hills that provided an impressive natural environment. Its irrigation system, considered one of the most sophisticated of the time, used dams and canals to work the land efficiently. Thanks to this innovative technology, crops thrived and high quality products such as cereals, alfalfa, clover and pasture were harvested.
Visiting the Hacienda de Jalpa is not only an opportunity to learn about agriculture and local history, but also a moment to reflect on the connection between humans and nature. As you walk through the grounds, you can feel the heritage of those who worked the land and contributed to the development of the community.
Don't miss the opportunity to explore this cultural heritage and be inspired by the stories that still echo in its walls.
