Description:
Not only is this building an example of local architecture, but it also holds a touching history that resonates in every corner of its construction.
The construction of this temple was a work promoted by José María Guerrero, a loving father who, with the prospect of his daughter becoming a Capuchin nun, decided to build this enclosure. His intention was to create a sacred space where his daughter could find her way without having to renounce lay life. This story of paternal love adds an emotional nuance to the visit, making it a deeper and more meaningful experience.
As you approach the Templo de San Antonio, you will be greeted by its austere cantera facade, which reflects the simplicity and beauty of the region's religious architecture. Unlike many temples, this one does not have a bell tower; instead, the bells sit atop an elegant belfry. This architectural detail is not only distinctive, but also adds a special charm to the place.
It is an ideal place to stop, meditate and appreciate the history that emanates from its walls.
