The construction of these stairways began on February 4, 1950, under the direction of architect Vicente Urquiaga Rojas. After two years of work, they were officially inaugurated in 1952 by the then Governor of the State, José Aguilar y Maya, and Rector Antonio Torres Gómez. However, the complete building was not finished until August 20, 1955. Since then, the stairways have been a meeting point for students, academics, and visitors, symbolizing the pride and tradition of the university community.
