One of the most memorable moments of our visit was taking a picture with La Manola, a symbol of Salvadorean tradition. This iconic monument transported us back in time and allowed us to appreciate the rich culture of the town. As we toured the garden, we also encountered local artists offering portraits on the spot, a special souvenir that captures the essence of our visit.
The Parish of the Virgen de la Luz: A Baroque Treasure
After enjoying the garden, we headed to the impressive Parroquia de la Virgen de la Luz, an architectural jewel of the eighteenth century. Its baroque façade, full of ornamental details, left us in awe. Upon entering, the gilded altarpieces inside create an atmosphere of peace and contemplation. We continued our tour through the historic center, where we found a museum that was unfortunately closed during our visit. However, it is definitely a place worth exploring, so be sure to check the opening hours before you go.
One of the things we enjoyed the most in Salvatierra was the variety of gastronomic options. On every street, there are places where you can savor the most traditional of the region or simply enjoy a coffee in a cozy atmosphere.
To put the finishing touch to our visit, we were delighted with a delicious snow typical of the center. This small detail made our experience even more memorable.
