The International Cervantino Festival is one of the most recognized cultural celebrations on the planet.

An Encounter With The Culture That Conquers The World

Each year, Guanajuato Capital transforms into a living stage where art, music, and tradition blend with the color of its cobblestone streets. For three intense weeks, the city is filled with national and international visitors who come to enjoy an unparalleled artistic experience.

This 2025, the Cervantino will be held from October 10 to 26, consolidating more than half a century of history that has turned Guanajuato into the cultural heart of Mexico.

United Kingdom and Veracruz: Guests of Honor

Each edition of the Cervantino has special guests who share the best of their identity and talent. On this occasion, the guest country is the United Kingdom, while the guest state is Veracruz.

The festival's opening was marked by Veracruz's participation, which gifted us a vibrant display of its linguistic and cultural richness. Their traditional music, especially son jarocho, filled the plazas and alleys of Guanajuato with energy. This cheerful rhythm was complemented by instruments like the marimba and the characteristic Veracruz zapateado, which reflects the strength and folklore of the Veracruz people.

Additionally, the pre-Hispanic dances and music offered a spectacle full of color, history, and emotion. Each performance was an invitation to rediscover Mexico's diversity, reminding us why our culture is one of the richest and most beautiful in the world.

A Festival Lived in Every Corner

The Cervantino isn't limited to formal stages: the entire city becomes a grand open-air theater. From the majestic Juárez Theater to tunnels, small squares, and staircases, every space comes alive with artists, musicians, dancers, and visitors who share the same festive spirit.

During these weeks, the historic center becomes filled with free events and ticketed shows, offering options for every taste. The streets are flooded with talent, while balconies and cafes become meeting points to enjoy the Cervantes atmosphere.

Mexican Tradition, Art, and Joy

Attending the Cervantino is experiencing something that goes beyond the stages. It's walking among street musicians, tasting the typical regional flavors, admiring open-air exhibitions, and letting yourself be carried away by the unique energy of Guanajuato.

The festival is also a reflection of the Mexican spirit: cheerful, creative, diverse, and deeply proud of its cultural heritage. Every musical note, every dance, and every work represents the talent that distinguishes Mexico in the world.

Don't miss the Cervantino Festival and visit Guanajuato. Here, culture is felt, celebrated, and lived like only Mexico knows how to do it.
