XICHÚ
In pre-Hispanic times this place was inhabited by Chichimeca Indians, who called the place Maxichú, which means “My grandmother’s brotherhood.”
This Mineral territory that was discovered in 1580, which they called Real de San Francisco de los Anues Tzinchú; from which in 1585 the town of Xinchú was founded.
A beautiful destination full of natural landscapes, mountains, waterfalls, rivers, dense fogs ideal for camping and having an approach with nature, the sky and the stars located within the Sierra Gorda.
The most importan tradition is the huapanguero folk dance existing in the place and the peculiar architecture of the Parish of San Francisco de Asís in red and white tones.
