“ESCUELA MODELO” TOURISTIC COMPLEX +

One of the largest Schools in the country was built in Mineral de Pozos (Called also Porfirio Díaz City). The construction lasted four years and was in charge of Architect Luis Long, requested by the Constitutional Governor, Joaquín Obregón González.

This property consisted of two sectors: one for boys and one for girls; reason for the “E” -shaped structure , which was made up of two courtyards separated by a central block that was presumably intended for academic offices.

The complex is divided into 2 buildings, on one part, the Old School Building which nowadays this is a building restored by the Government of the State of Guanajuato where they can develop techniques related mainly to music and dance, there will be various spaces for exhibition of cultural exhibitions for the diffusion, promotion and preservation of educational and artistic expressions and on the other sector, the workshop building where it will be symbolically managed as the academic building where different modalities of workshops and courses in different arts will be worked.

LOCAL MUSEUM:

The site museum of Escuela Modelo in Mineral de Pozos represent to us from the mining period to present times , emphasizing the Porfirian era and the educational model that President Porfirio Dias implemented in Mexico, deeply detailing the educational and social that the town lived during this period, as well as the architecture, the decline, resurgence and the tourist movement that is in the place today.

    TOURISTIC SITE IN MINERAL DE POZOS +

    In the State of Guanajuato, the municipality of San Luis de la Paz has the second largest territory, Mineral de Pozos is surrounded by a semi-arid environment, the architectural ruins of this so-called “ghost town” are combined with the semi-desert landscape and a dry climate. , providing you with an abundant amount of natural resources.     HISTORY MUSEUM:

    This facility is located in the Sangre de Cristo community in Guanajuato, in addition to the primary services necessary for the rest and family recreation of visitors, has three museums.

    Mining Museum

    The museum preserves and communicates one of the main economic activities that give Guanajuato its identity. The visitor is immersed in a experience to learn more about the processes involved in operating a mine, becoming a mine worker and living an unparalleled adventure.

    Catrinas and Soul celebration (CATRINAS Y FIESTA DE LAS ANIMAS)

    The museum preserves one of the most important traditions such as the Day of the Dead, it gives us the opportunity to reconnect with the past and recognize the great strength of our ancestors, their beliefs, their conception about the cycles of the earth.     Itinerant Mummies ( MOMIAS VIAJERAS )

    The collection includes 36 arid bodies, each of the mummies has particular characteristics that make them different from the rest, such as the body that is distinguished by wearing clothes from the early twentieth century and is known as the woman in the pijama dress.
