This “Pueblo Magico” is nothing less than the home of Mexican Independence, it was the place where the priest Don Miguel Hidalgo called out the independence movement “Grito de Dolores” on September 16th, 1810, so its value and relevance is a source of pride for the nation and the state of Guanajuato.

Because it is a magical town, Dolores has a particular charm, its artisans work the pottery the old fashioned way, with a smile on their mouths they elaborate precious ceramic pieces, molded around and painted by hand and that is one of the main economic activities of the city. Its pottery culture is so famous that the pottery from Dolores is exported to many countries in America and around the world.

Curious Fact, Dolores is well known for having the tastiest and most exotic ice cream flavors in the state. Just to mention some of the flavors to whet your appetite: pork rind, beer, mole and avocado. So, do you dare to try them?
